There are 3 trainees in the co-op:

We met with Phalla. She said her co-op had started on the 05/6/2014 and earned $ 1.25 income in that month. The shop was supported by her parents, the building and soil fill cost $ 500.00. The land belongs to her auntie. They are rice farmers.The money for materials and equipment, cost $ 100.00, also provided by her parents.

Income:

In July, 56,000 riels = $ 14.00, August 21,000 riels = $ 5.25, September 26,000 riels = $ 6.50, October 14,000 riels = $ 3.50 and November 36,000 riels = $ 9.00. They have to record in the income book.

The most popular customers services were: crimping, straighthening, make-up, upstyling, nail polish and selling cream.

Each wedding they get $ 10.00.


They want to have $ 250 loan to buy cupboard, label sign, chairs and do the ceiling.

We went to visit Doeut Lido at the Prey Prum village to see the wedding-outfitting for the bridesmaid. She earned 30,000 riels = $7.50 for each wedding.

There are 3 trainees in the co-op:

  1. MolLyda
  2. DoeunSreytoch
  3. Doeut Lido
MolLida stayed in the shop. The other 2 went to do the wedding outfitting. Each wedding they earn $ 7.50.

She is married. Her husband and her parents are rice farmers.
They started the co-op in September 2014. In October they made income 226,000 riels = $ 56.50. In November they earned 127,000 riels = $ 31.75. They have to record in the income book. Up to now after salon running costs, they share the income profit of 70,000 riels = $ 17.50.

The shop was build by Lida’s parent, they supported her by lending $ 350. The training centre supported by the grant contributed $ 61.00 to buy some materials, a cupboard, a mirror and other materials were supported by parents.

The salon main client service is in perming, nail polish and hair straightening.

There were 4 trainees in the co-op:

Each trainee has got 1 sewing machine with support from their parents. They started the business at Danys house. They have 3 sewing machines set up and 1 overlocking machine.
San Rath took the trousers from Poy Pet and gave them to sew to get the income. Up to now they share the money to all of them and one got $ 32.50 each on the 9/10/2014.
The centre supported the grant $ 120.25 to buy some fabric for cutting clothes.
All parents are rice farmers and they all happy to support their children and all of them are very happy.
They did not want to get the loan from the centre.
