A trainer profile - 'Hair&Beauty': Sokheng from Mong Russey

Case Study of an APHEDA 'Hair&Beauty' Trainer from Battambang Provencal:

My name is Wat Sokheng.

I am from the Mong Russey Women’s Development Centre in Battambang Provencal.

Previously, I was a hairdresser at Mong Russey market. Now, I am a hairdressing trainer based in Mong Russey Women’s Development Centre in Mong Russey district. I have studied for 5 months learning beauty salon skills in Phnom Penh in May 2006. Then APHEDA developed my skills further in hair cutting on 9th November 2010.

My APHEDA training has since been upgraded with skills such as, haircutting, bridal up styling, face makeup (wedding and party), nail bar, nail art, perming, hair coloring, theory and practice, hair demonstration foundations, lesson plan and teacher planning.

For me, this course was very important because I have been taught by professional trainers which are very experienced with the international standard quality. I feel that this training course is of good quality, with current needs being meet, which helps us to lead our skills training in our day to day operations in the community education centre.

After each training workshop, I have developed more skills to further train the trainees who come to study in the Women’s Development Centre in Mong Russey.
